Join Decoding Dyslexia OK (DDOK) for a day of education and advocacy to help struggling readers, including students with dyslexia. The day will feature presentations and breakout sessions on utilizing the science of reading to effectively reach struggling readers, including those with dyslexia. With the assistance of the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Community Partners we are able to provide the conference at no charge.

DDOK welcomes educators, parents, dyslexia advocates, and anyone who would like to learn more about dyslexia to attend this conference. We will focus on understanding the science of reading and how to develop competent readers. Here are a few questions we hope to answer at the event:

- What is dyslexia?

- How do I find help for struggling readers?

- How do I recognize dyslexia in the classroom?

- What types of intervention and support are necessary to effectively help a student with dyslexia?

- What types of accommodations are going to provide students the best support for success in the classroom?

A certificate of attendance/CEU will be provided. We encourage everyone to bring their favorite technology tools(iPod touch, iPad, iPhone, tablet, Chromebook, laptop) for note-taking and exploration of some of our favorite tools/apps. Lunch will be on your own, but there are several options nearby.
